Ainsi naissait la FONDATION SAINT-LOUIS-MAILLET en octobre 1987. La campagne était lancée officiellement au campus d'Edmundston de l'Université de Moncton, sous la présidence d'honneur de monsieur Bertin Nadeau, 1967, président d'Unigesco, le lundi 26 octobre 1987. On ne peut passer sous silence tous les efforts et les énergies déployés par Jean-Paul L'Italien, 1974, pour mettre en marche les rouages de la Fondation. Monsieur L'Italien a été l'initiateur du projet. Il a fallu beaucoup de clairvoyance et énormément de travail pour concevoir et entreprendre un tel projet. www.fondationslm.org
